Whole Grain Pledge for School Nutrition Programs

Published: May 14th, 2019

Over the past several years, Arizona LEAs have done an outstanding job implementing whole grain-rich requirements for school meals, and ADE is eager to support schools as they serve these items. On April 11th, ADE invited LEAs who so desire to sign a pledge to serve all whole grain-rich items in lieu of the updated flexibilities around whole grains.

ADE recently hosted a webinar overviewing the nutritional differences between whole grains and enriched grains and how to understand the USDA Final Rule on School Meal Flexibilities concerning whole grains. If you missed the webinar, you can review the recording and webinar slides here.

Take the Pledge!
