FY2017 Prop 123 Payment 1

FY2017 Prop 123 monies will be paid out in two separate payments. Payment 1 has been calculated and will be distributed in December. Payment amounts can be found in the link below; Districts are separated by county and Charters are listed alphabetically. Payments are based on the most recently run Classroom Site Fund counts.

FY 2017 BUDG25 Budget Verification (Over/Under Budget) Letters Published

In accordance with A.R.S. §15-905(E), the FY 2017 BUDG25 Budget Verification Letters have been posted to each applicable district budgets homepage of the ADE School Finance website. To download and review a specific district from the ADE School Finance website, please click here.

As a reminder, if a district is considered to be exceeding its ADE calculated limit for M&O exclusively due to the K3 Reading Add-On Funding not being calculated in the district’s RCL as of 11/1/2016, a December 15th budget revision for M&O will not be required.

The Fiscal Year 2016 Statewide Recalculation has been completed.

 

District

Both  positive and negative adjustment will be included by November 1st payment through APOR64-1 report. However, the positive adjustment will be included  as lump sum adjustment; whereas the negative adjustment will be taken over the entire fiscal year, 4/12ths taken in November and 1/12th each payment thereafter.

 

Charter

The positive payment has been included by September 1st payment through CAHR64-1 report as the lump sum adjustment.  The negative adjustment will be included by November 1st payment. The negative adjustment will be taken over the entire fiscal year, 4/12ths taken in November and 1/12th each payment thereafter.

Pursuant to A.R.S § 15-915, hardship requests are available. Please complete the form and submit to [email protected] by 10/15/2016.

 

With the hardship application, a minimum of 75% must be adjusted in FY17 and 25% will be adjusted in FY18. Adjustments will begin with the November 1 payment.  Please include all questions regarding these adjustments in your e-mail, with the completed form attached. Exceptions for severe scenarios may be made.

Small School Weight Adjustment Correction

The September 1st , 2016 payment of state aid has been completed. We had a system issue for Small School Weight adjustment which impacted 201 charters.

The off cycle payment has been processed and distributed by 9/5/2016. We will refund the portion of adjustment taken in the September payment, the amount can be found in the following spreadsheet. The small school weight adjustment will be zeroed out for all 201 charters in October 2016 payment.

$50 Million Additional Funding

$50 Million Additional Funding:

The full $50 million of Additional Funding is being distributed at this time.

  • CSF weighted counts from payment 10 have been used as the basis for the allocation of the $50 million (Laws 2015, 1st Sp Session, Chapter 1, and Section 1)[1]
  • Adjustments to the payments resulting from the statewide recalculation will be processed in accordance with A.R.S. 15-915.  Adjustments will equal the difference between the amount distributed in June, 2016 and the amount determined after the statewide recalculation.  Whether the adjustment to your FY 2017 allocation will be negative or positive cannot be determined at this time.

FY16 $50M Additional Funding Payment Amounts

[1] The department of education shall allocate the appropriated amount to school districts and charter schools on a pro rata basis using the weighted student count for the school district or charter school for the fiscal year pursuant to section 15 943, paragraph 2, subdivision (a), Arizona Revised Statutes, and increase the budget limits pursuant to section 15 947, Arizona Revised Statutes, accordingly.  For the purposes of this paragraph, the weighted student count for a school district that serves as the district of attendance for nonresident pupils shall be increased to include nonresident pupils who attend school in the school district.  A School district may budget the allocation that the school district receives pursuant to this paragraph in either the school district’s maintenance and operation fund or unrestricted capital outlay fund.
