Revision and Alignment of the Infant Toddler Developmental Guidelines

Published: February 6th, 2018

The Early Childhood Education section of the Arizona Department of Education will be commencing the revision of the Infant Toddler Developmental Guidelines.

The purpose of this work is to revise the Infant Toddler Developmental Guidelines. With the recent revisions to the Arizona’s Early Learning Standards, the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five, and Arizona’s K-12 Standards, it is necessary to update and revise the Infant Toddler Developmental Guidelines. These revisions will reflect current research and knowledge as it pertains to infant/toddler development.

Participants in the revision work groups must commit to reviewing current research and best practice as provided by the leaders of the work-group, participate in on-site meetings as well as possible intermittent committee work by phone and be able to read and edit for content and common vision.

In an effort to establish a team reflective of the early childhood field and the geographic differences in our state, we ask that all individuals interested in being considered for participation in the work fill out the online application using the following link: http://bit.ly/2lRlctK

A series of day-long meetings in the Phoenix area have been established for the initial work. Additional statewide stakeholder groups and comment periods may follow.

Meetings have been scheduled for:
