*Charter system

“A” grades were awarded to school districts and charter systems that earned at least 140 of a possible 200 points using the Arizona Department of Education’s A-F School Accountability Letter Grade System. Points for charter systems operating multiple charter holders were based on average total points weighted by October 1 enrollment figures.

In addition to receiving an “A” letter grade, districts and charter systems had to meet the following criteria to qualify:

  • Operate multiple school sites

While this list focuses on those high performing organizations impacting a large number of students, many districts and charters have individual schools that have received “A” letter grades. Those schools can all be found in the list available at the link below. It is also important to note that many small or single-school districts and charter systems have also received “A” letter grades.
