There are three days remaining for 4th grade classrooms or grade bands to submit an entry for the “We Are Arizona!” collaborative visual arts competition.
The winning 4th grade class (or grade level) will receive an awesome arts-based award including but not limited to: field trips, arts engagement opportunities provided by professional teaching artists, and more!
All participating schools will receive a Certificate of Appreciation and have their art work professionally displayed at the Sonoran Arts League Gallery from Feb. 14, 2019 to Feb. 25, 2019. Adjudicators are looking to see student voice and understanding of Arizona history and standards in each submission. Contest entries will be displayed at the Arizona Department of Education from February 26th through March and will be available for pick up Wednesday May 1, 2019 through Friday May 24, 2019 at 5pm. Artwork not retrieved will be added to the Arizona Department of Education’s permanent collection.
- Create a collaborative art work inspired by the theme “We Are Arizona” within your 4th grade classroom or across the grade level.
- Submit the entry form and attach a photograph of the entry
- Attach appropriate display labels. (Artwork not properly labeled will not be adjudicated.)
- Drop off or mail artwork to the Arizona Department of Education by 5pm on Friday December 14, 2018. (For artwork larger than the size of a refrigerator, please contact the Arizona Department of Education to arrange adequate storage before display).

Contest entries must be received at the Arizona Department of Education by 5pm Friday, December 14, 2018. All artwork must be submitted by a school representative (classroom teacher, visual arts teacher, arts coordinator, principal, school leadership, etc.).
